Manipulators
Manipulators are primarily used to move a probe tip (DC, Kelvin, HF, etc.), multi-contact wedge, optical fiber, detector or camera in an X, Y or Z direction. Each axis is usually moved via a micrometer, thumbscrew or motor. Manipulators are often available with 40, 50, 80, 100 and 200 threads per inch (TPI) and the larger the TPI the better the resolution. A complete manipulator includes the manipulator body, a probe arm face plate, a probe arm and a base.
SemiProbe manufactures an extensive line of manipulators for a wide variety of applications (Device Characterization, High Frequency, MEMS, Power, Optoelectronics, Photovoltaics and more) ranging from submicron to large pad probing. The family consists of manual and programmable versions that are complimented with a large selection of probe arms and bases.
